Falcon’s Fall
N-2 Standard Phase
OTA Cloud Push / Blue Screen of Death Incident
During the N-2 Standard Phase, an OTA cloud push resulted in a Blue Screen of Death event affecting the Falcon sensor environment.
I have disassembled the sensor package and obtained hashes for analysis. I am currently investigating the underlying cause of the issue, including whether the failure was triggered by the OTA payload, sensor behavior, or an external remediation action.
For research and containment purposes, I isolated the Falcon sensor from the home network. Despite this isolation, the unpacked sensor continues to emit observable signals, which are now being monitored and documented separately.
The current working hypothesis is that the BSOD was triggered after an external entity attempted to correct, modify, or repair the OTA push. Further analysis is required before attribution or root cause can be confirmed.
What does this mean? Was there a back office switch and call back control for emergency maintenance?
